Thursday Eye Candy: Idris Elba Is Too FINE!!!

I will admit, I rarely buy magazines. I usually just go to Barnes and Noble, buy a Carmel Macchiato and enjoy the magazine right then and there and bounce. (I know that sounds REALLY bad but times is rough people!)  However, after peeping this month's Ebony Magazine, I had to buy it to get a second glimpse of the sexiness that is Idris Elba. Not only is the man FIONE but his accent will make a girl think...things!!!!

So, enjoy today's chocolate goodness and pick up this month's Ebony magazine on newsstand now! :-)

Thursday Eye Candy: Jermaine Can Get A "Booty Call"

Waddup Young World!

I hope you all are well rested after last holiday weekend as I am. Though I am sweating balls right now in NYC, at least I know I am burning extra calories when I am...ummm...."exercising." :-)

For today's eye candy, I want to showcase a brotha who not only rocks a bald head well but he knows how to get a "Booty Call" going wink,wink....

Introducing Mr. Jermaine Paul. You might be familiar with the singer as he has performed with Grammy award winning singer Alicia Keys. The New York native was once signed to Shaquille O'Neal's short-lived label Twism Records (and when I say short live I mean a SECOND) where he was the lead singer for the R&B group 1Accord. The dude also performed on the soundtrack of the hit movie, Booty Call, that featured Jamie Foxx and Jada Pinkett Smith.

After singing background vocals for artists like Mary J. Blige, Brandy and Kelly Price, Jermaine received the opportunity to work with Ms. Keys on her album, "The Diary of Alicia Keys."

Though his resume is impeccable, it's his looks that has many women's panties in a twist! The chocolately-singer has a nice smile (almost like he can do a Colgate commercial) and ladies, trust me when you see him perform, you can't but help to admire the sweat that drips all over his BAAWWWWDDDY, not body BAWDY!!!

So, feast your eyes on the singer and to learn more information about him, check out his song below.

This track is soo dope, I can't tame myself with this track.

Check it out!

Weekend Eye Candy: Chow Time!!!!

Happy Sunday boys and girls!!!

Today's eye candy came by way of my late night insomnia. Last night, I couldn't fall asleep for the life of me (I blame my neighbors who felt it was truly necessary to play Hot 97 on FULL BLAST at 3 A.M., smh)

Since I couldn't fall asleep, I decided to watch some shows on the tele and I happened to have had it on The Style network. On Style, they were playing the Diddy's "If I were King," the mini-documentary that follows Mr. Combs as he preps for his upcoming fashion show.

I was quite interested and inspired by Diddy's grind and strength in the business world, but it was his Creative Director that really caught my attention, not because of his great creative vision (which is dope!) but because this  dude is FIONEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!

GOT DAMN!!!!!!

I would like to introduce to you all, Mr. Dao Yi Chow.

After being intrigued by the sexiness of this man, I decided to do some investigation to find out about the dude and his resume is just as impeccable as his good looks!

He was a former freelance journalist for The Source, Vibe Magazine and Ego Trip. A fashion guru, the fashion stylist co-founded the clothing line, Public School. Also, did I forget to mention that homie was a model! He is also very charming and very honest-my kind of guy. Here's a quote from him about his thought on branding....

" I absolutely think its bull shit, if something is great it does not need to be marketed, Traditional marketing is validating something in a context and i think the greatest product and brands validate them selves just by being themselves"- Dao-Yi Chow

So, feast your eyes on this delicious young man. Diddy, you sure know how to pick 'em!

Can't stop, won't stop! :-)

Thursday Eye Candy: The Artist

Hola My People!

As you all are well aware, I am obssessed with BET's Centric hit reality show, Model City. I mean to see a show showcasing African American men in a postive (yet sometime dramatic) aspect is fabulous! Plus, it doesn't hurt that they all look oh so delicious!

I was asked by my peers who is my favorite model from the show. Of course, I go for the nerdy, artsy one Ibrahim Baaith.  He might be a model but the Philly native is far from bougsy. He admitted to Honey Magazine that he considers himself more of a “Conspiracy Theorist than a model, which is reflected in my art.” Did I mention to you guys that homeboy is an artist?! Yes, good looks and creative..MY KIND OF MAN!

Check out  his Honey Magazine's interview with the model here!

Yum, Yum!

Monday Eye Candy: Oscars Deliciousness.....

Happy Monday Boys and Girls!

Last night, I felt like being a cool kid and I watched The Oscar's pre-show to see who was hot and who was bland.

So for today's eye candy, check out these actors who made the red carpet very handsome :-)

Actor/Rocker Lenny Kravitz look dapper  in his tux but I think its safe to say that Mr. Kravitz would look delish in anything. Yum! Yum!

The “Star Trek” cutie Chris Pine was wearing that suit. Also, ::in my valley girl voice::: doesn't he look like totally dreamy? Like OMAHGOD!!!!

Jamie Foxx lookcute in his all black outfit but is it just me or wouldn't he and actress Stacey Dash make a wonderful couple? I vote yes! Who second this motion?

"Hurt Locker" star Anthony Mackie  has much to smile about after last night. He is apart of the cast of the winning film,  "The Hurt Locker".  Mackie told MTV News on the Oscar red carpet, "I think when you look at movie-making, 'Hurt Locker' is the epitome of traditional Hollywood movie-making."

Now this might be a traditional eye candy look but when Ben Stiller came out as one of the creature from the blockbuster film "Avatar" , it was hilarious! Too cute!!!!

Thursday Eye Candy: Get Down With The Midwest Swang-a-lang-a-lang!!

Can I make a confession, Crazyettes?

I am going to be quite honest with you all, I wasn't going to have a eye candy today.

I didn't see anything made me jump out my seat and throw myself in a fridge. I was getting a bit discourage by the lack of sexiness today but reassured my friends over at Essence.com saved the day!

Feast your eyes on up-and-coming model Deric Micken....

The young actor/model is Midwest boy who made his way to New York City to be in the entertainment world. You know what that means ladies, FRESH MEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The model told the magazine that it is his upbringing from Cedar Rapids, Iowa that keeps him grounded. “It really kept me grounded,” Deric says of growing up in Iowa. “I’ve always kept my head on straight.”

Sure, he looks great without his shirt (and possibly naked) but it was this picture that made me moist.....because I spilled my water on my shirt. (You see, I know your mind was going elsewhere, NASTY!)

As you all know, I LOVE BLACK NERDY, SKATEBOARD RIDING GUYS!!!! ahhhhhhh!!! So, when I saw this pictorial, it made me smile :-)

So enjoy today's eye candy. Make sure you don't drop your water bottle too! :-p

Monday Eye Candy: Ting-A-Ling-A-Ling

Happy Monday My Crazy Loves!

Oh, how I missed you all. This weekend was truly an adventure. I went on the most craziest, psychotic, freak-nik of a ski trip in my days! (Stay tuned for my full report on that!)

For today's eye candy is a quite ugly. I mean homeboy is ugly than a motha f*cka. Today's eye candy is so ugly he makes Lil' Wayne look like Tyson Bedford. Today's eye candy I am talking about is Jamaica's own Shabba Ranks!

This morning, as I was getting my daily dose of Retro Centric (P.S. I love the Centric Network. It's like high-quality black television, love it!) Shabba's classic hit "Ting-A-Ling" came on. As I was having my whining session in my house (yes, I back it up by myself in my house, don't judge me) I wondered to myself, "How the hell did this ugly ass man get all the girls?

Lmao I mean, Shabba is no sex pot but this man managed to get tons of girls worldwide. The man has so many kids, he can start his own cricket team! (If you know what cricket is, you are such a yardie and I love you for that! Lol)

Shabba Ranks admitted in an interview that he is ugly but he said the reason why he get the girls is because
"Him words sweet like di gyal pum pum" Translation: It's not his looks that got him far, it is his Jamaican "anaconda."

I would never date the man but I will give him props for playing the sexy Jamaican stunner and having all the girls "whine up pon him."

Kudos to you! If your ugly ass can get some ass, more power to you!!!!!!!!!

Monday Eye Candy/Crazy Fashion: He "Beat Her Down" But He Sure Looks Dapper!

Happy Monday Folks!

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. I hope that you all had a splendid Lover's day! Now, back to reality...

Now, like I have said before, I am growing into my inner fashionista. So, in my efforts to build up my fashion knowledge, I've been keeping up with what is going on during New York Fashion Week. On Friday, Naomi Campbell had her Fashion For Haiti Relief Fashion Show. From what I saw and read, the show was a complete success, however, I got sidetrack from my fashion studies to admire the delicious piece of man known as Chris Brown.

Now, Now...Before everyone say that I like a man-beater, let me  just stop you right now in mid sentence. (Yes, I just cut off your sentence via the blog. STRAIGHT GANGSTA!) I think that he has changed his ways and don't think he will do it again and if he does then he will get the scrutiny he will deserve so until  then GET OFF OF THAT SUBJECT, DAMNIT!!!!

Back to what is important....this man is fiiiioone!!!!!!

Doesn't he look so dapper in his suit! Growl!!!!!!! I going to bet $100 that Mr. Brown is going to come out with his own clothing line. Don't you agree?

Happy Valentine's Day From All Of Us At Crazy Land!

Whether you are a lover or hater, today is Valentine's Day! A day where flowers are being given, chocolate are being eaten and somebody going to be straight f*ckin'! (What? I am being honest :-) )

We here at Crazy land wanted to wish you guys a fun filled and loving Valentine's Day. We found this dope poem that we want to share with you all. Whether you are mad or hate Valentine's Day, shut the f*ck up and let the lovers have fun! Geeeesssshhhhhh

Check out this dope poem:

Love
Black love poems by Pokahontaz from http://www.short-love-poems.net/black-love-poems.html
As I sit back and reminisce on what love
has done to me.
you would wonder how can I grin, how can I smile
how can I appear to be so happy.

Because in my full term with love, the afterbirth
was pain.
That was felt again and again, different face, different name
but results were still the same.

How can I yearn for such a thing that causes so much hurt and
so much strife.
How can I desire the American dream, he as my husband
and I as his wife.

How can I put myself back on the edge of a rocky,
unsteady cliff.
Not knowing if I will be pushed and land once again
all broken and stiff.

As I lean back in my chair and feel all the hurtful emotions
take over me.
I fancifully envision a fairy godmother giving me a potion to
set me free.

"A potion? A real potion"; you may say.
"Is it mixed with red bull and Tangueray?" *

Ah No, but it is a potion that is mixed with the feelings of
pure bliss.
A feeling that is an ultimate high that you can't
get from a fix.

It is a feeling of butterflies in your stomach, or a
whisper in your ear.
It is a feeling of passion and courage; standing tall even
if Goliath were near.

It is the Dr. Jekyll when it's alter
ego is Mr. Hyde
It is the cure of its own disease and restorer
to its own plight

Can I just taste, indulge and bathe in its beauty, cherish God's
gift oh I won't complain.
It is worth all its grief if I can dance for just for a moment in its rain

Weekend Eye Candy: Theophilus London "Humming" To The Top

Happy Saturday!

*sips tea*

In another edition of "CRAZYPRETTYLADY LOVES BLACK SKATEBOARDER/NERDS", I would like to introduce you to Theophilus London. As many people are starting to get to know the rapper, I had the opportunity to see Mr. London perform at SOBs not too long ago. His creativity and style is one that many cannot pull off if they tried. However, recently the Brooklyn Renaissance Hip Hop Soul star sat down with Complex Magazine to  dish on what inspires him and his style. Click here to check it out.

Mr. London is a phenomenal talent and is said to be the new era in hip hop. His music makes a connect with his listeners. When I saw him perform, I along with everyone there knew that he will be making an impact in the industry.

I respect a man who is not afraid to express himself and let's not forget that his music is so dope! He probably won't get the mainstream attention as he should but like many creative talents like Lupe Fiasco and Mickey Factz he will truly make an impact in the industry.

I must say, hip hop is definitely making a comeback. Gone are the days of "bling bling". Thank God! I was beginning to worry. One more song about Stanky Legging, I was going to start listening to country. SMH

Keep on doing what your doing, fam! Plus, your style = FIIIEEEEERRCCCEEEE

Haven't heard of Mr. London? Where have you been!!! Don't worry, check out his music here. Trust me, you will be adding him into your i-pod after hearing his music.

Your welcome.

Friday Eye Candy: SILENCE!

Good Morn-ting!

Happy Friday my loves! Last night, I drank a cup of delicious chamomile tea and told myself that I was just going to take a "nap" and wake up to do the rest of my work.

However to my surprise, I didn't realize that chamomile tea knocks you the f@!k out and this caused my nap to turn into me being knocked out and waking up at 3AM. Instead of getting into a frenzy, I decided to just relax and watch some TV before I get ready to face the concrete jungle when I stumbled upon the MTV show, Silent Library.

I am not going to lie, I am a huge fan of the show and enjoy seeing these do outlandish tasks all to win money (mind you they only win at most $700 when the money is split amongst the other players.)

So as I am watching the show, I realized something I had not paid attention to since the first season; something that caught me off guard that help me  make my decision for today's eye candy.

IS IT JUST ME OR ISN'T THE HOST OF THE SHOW A HOTTIE!

After much stalking investigation, I found out that the host is Zero Kazama. The Japanese-American actor comes off as a no smiling, somewhat rude character who practically reminds me of those dude who are cute but are so you want to smack them and hug them at the same time. Maybe this is why I dig him. (Weird? Yes, I know!)

So, kudos to you, Mr. Kazama! Keep on with your straight face, no laugh demeanor. I know that I am not the only chick who digs it! :-)

Later days!!!!

Monday Eye Candy: Nothing Like A Father's Love

Now, If this moment during last night's Super Bowl wasn't the cutest thing ever, I don't know what is!!!! I know that the Super Bowl is a manly sport  and does not involve crying but you cannot tell me that you didn't feel a tear coming on when you saw New Orleans Saints' Quarter Back Drew Brees embrace his son after he won last night's game. Drew Brees has always been a class act since he first came into the game. When ask how he felt about sharing this moment with his son, he said:

“It’s something I’ve dreamed about since I was 7 years old,” Brees said, “to win a championship and to share it with my son. It’s only his first year of life, he’ll never remember that moment but it’s something I’ve always dreamed of.”

I know that everyone is all about Reggie, Reggie, Reggie (I mean, the man is sexy!) but I truly think that this year's Super Bowl belongs to Brees. Also, LET'S BE REAL, REGGIE WASN'T PLAYING THAT GREAT LAST NIGHT.  I am not hating, just being honest.

So Congrats to Brees and his team, New Orleans Saints. I know that New Orleans is going to be OFF THE CHAIN for this year's Mardi Gras! If I had the money, I would definitely be on my way down to Nawlins, showing my boobies for beads. I kid I kid! Maybe my bra but no boobs :-)

Thurs. Eye Candy: 'Max'in' out

*in Jay-Z voice*

Hola My People!!!!

We made it halfway through the week! Yesssaahhhhhh!

Some people are blessed with great genes, great personality or great "sex"....appeal :-)

However, it seems like Maxwell has been blessed with the whole thing! On Monday, I watched the BET Honors(Yes! I know! The crazy lady watched black folks tele more than once this month! This is an accomplishment :-) ) I was watching to see who was getting an award but Maxwell, Maxwell....*moans* Maxwell took over and I completely forgot who he was suppose to be honoring.

God Bless this man! May he never age and stay the sex kitten that he is, even back when he had the 'fro.

Check out his BET performance here...don't worry, we won't judge you if you play the video more than once.

Saturdazzzeee: Do Women Abuse Their Power?

What's goodie fam?!?!?!?!!?!?!!

So, this week, I am going to admit a wrong that I had done. I must admit, I felt really bad about what I done, but nonetheless, I did it lol. On Wednesday, during my lunch break, I went to my favorite spot to get my usual and this dude (who we will give the name Spongebob since I was watching that all night last night. Don't judge me lol) was in the place to order his food. His order just so happen to be the same thing as mine.

Now, I am going to be very honest, the guy ordered his food before me and techinically, he was suppose to get his food first but I, being the impatient girl that I am, wanted to head out and go on my way.(Also, I was kind of running late. 20 minutes to be exact. What? I had to make a H&M stop!) So, I did the unthinkable! I played the "PMS" card. Ladies, you know exactly what I am talking about. When the food was ready and he was about to get his food handed to him, I grabbed my stomach, took the food and acted as though I was suffering from intense cramps. Feeling sorry for me in my "time of need", the gentlemen not only gave me his order but he also paid for mine.

After I left the restaurant, I felt SOOOOO guilty about what I have done and it had me thinking..."Do I use my woman hood power in vain?"

Ladies let's be real, we at one point in our lives use our womanly issues to get ahead in the game. For example, when your man is acting up, you deny in the "coochie" card; when we don't want to go into work, you have a sudden case of cramps; when we know we hit a guy first we play as though we are the victim because we know that "a man should never hit a woman."

This sounds horrible and I do feel bad for what I have done but don't men abuse their gender card too? So, I should not feel so bad about what I did, right?

What do you think? Do you think that women abuse their power? Should we through the rules out and make everything equal?

And to the gentlemen, thank you for helping me :-)

Wednesday Mean Muggin Special: What if "The Home Wrecker" is The One?

What it do Party People!

Now, this story has been a hot topic in my office, on the streets, hell, even on public transportation!

Rumor has that Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz are reportedly engaged to take that next leap of faith. Now this would be a happy story if Swizz Beatz wasn't TECHINICALLY STILL MARRIED to his soon-to-be ex-wife(once the ink is dry) singer Mashonda. Today, as the story hit the streets, I cannot tell you how many times I overheard women calling Alicia Keys a "home wrecker" or a "man-stealer." I literally choked on my drink since I was laughing so hard at my fellow crazy spazing out at Alicia and listening to her theory on "chicks breaking up happy homes."

I read the message boards and tweets about the story and I must say, in somewhat of an ironic twist path to maturity, I genuinely disagree with everyone's disapproval of Alicia and Swizz's relationship.

Ever since news broke that the two were together, I began to ask myself a question tha even I found shocking.(If this was the CrazyPrettyLady back in the day, Lord knows I would have probably spazzed out myself) What if the woman that is considered "the home wrecker" or the "man stealer" is actually the right one for the man?

*Dodges bottles that are being thrown at me because I ask such a question*

HEAR ME OUT!

I, myself, went through a situation where a guy who I was dating left me to be with another woman. To be honest, I went on my rants and called her a "home wrecker" and blah blah blah. However, after reflecting with myself (and taking a lot of anger management classes) I personally realize that though it might not have been the right way he started his new relationship with the other woman, at the end of the day, she was the RIGHT woman for him. Listen, no one on this earth cannot control who they fall in love with and sometimes the one that they want is the one they should not have. However, a lot of time people do not follow what their heart because they want to either spare their spouse/boyfriend/girlfriend of pain or in some case, like in Swizz's in my opinion, a child is involved and you want to keep a happy home.

Before men of world try to pat me on the back for "sticking up for them", DO NOT THINK THAT I AM CONDONING CHEATING. I am not saying that AT ALL. If you are cheating, meaninf your sleeping around without a care in the world, you deserve to get your a$$ beat! (Well not beat, but hurt really badly.) What I am saying is that if you know your heart is elsewhere and not with the person you are with now, then it is best to just let that person go and be with the one that makes you happy. This is what Swizz did; he loves Alicia. There is not one person who can tell me that this relationship does not look genuine. I remember seeing pics of Swizz and Mashonda around the time they were going to split and I am not going to lie, THE MAN LOOKED MISERABLE!

And to all the women who calling Alicia a "man-stealer", cut it out! Look, no woman like a home wrecker at all. However, ladies, keep it funky! you Never been in a relationship with a guy you absolutely can't stand but stayed in the relationship to save his heart and spare yourself from being lonely and then you meet the guy that is perfect for you and though you were considered "grimey" to leave your old boyfriend behind, you could care less because you are so happy to be with the one that makes heart and soul smile? I have been that girl and to this very day, I am happy to be with this man and wouldn't change my decision.

So, ladies, put down the pitch fork and stop cussing on the blogs. You can't control what your heart feels and at the end of the day, if the love is real, it will always survive. So, congrats to Alicia and Swizz. I wish you guys nothing but success.

And to Mashonda, I wish you too all the best. Don't worry, you will find your prince charming.

P.S. - If you disagree with me, that's cool. However, I am being honest and real. Some of you chicks out there who are cursing up a storm are the same ones who sleep with your man's friends because you feel *in ghetto dialect* "he wasn't giving it the way I want it. So I went elsewhere" Yea, heffa, I am talking about YOU! So, cut the bullsh*t and leave these lovebirds alone!

Ta-Ta :-)

Tuesday Grooves: There Goes My Baby

Happy Tuesday!

Last night, after I wrote a post about missing the old school Usher, a fellow crazy sent me a link from Usher's upcoming album Raymond Vs. Raymond. Now, after I heard his song Papers I wasn't too sure if I would like this link. (Granted he is putting his crazy ex-wife on blast but he could have done it with a better beat or wrote a stronger song.)

So as I cautiously took listen to the song, I will admit, I LOVE IT! It had the essence of his previous album and not too mention I could see him going shirtless in the music video, wish is always nice :-)

So take a listen and see if you think this a major hit for Usher. I am still skeptical about his new album but this song is shaving away some of my worries.

Enjoy!
