Say it ain't so!!! Oprah will end her talk show in 2011
It is truly an end of an era...
On Friday, Oprah Winfrey will announce that she will no longer be continuing her widely popular daytime show when her contract ends in Sept. 2011.
A spokesperson for CBS Television Studios, the ones who distributes her show, put out the statement,
"We have the greatest respect for Oprah and we wish her nothing but the best in her future endeavors, we do know anything she turns her hand to will be a great success."
"We have the greatest respect for Oprah and we wish her nothing but the best in her future endeavors, we do know anything she turns her hand to will be a great success."
Say what you want about the TV mogul, but Oprah Winfrey has been one of the most influential television personalities in the game. I, myself, one day, inspire to be just like her, but just a little bit more rough around the edges.
Well, O has nothing to worry about as her show draws to an end. The woman is FLITHY RICH. Plus, she is currently working with the Discovery Channel to create OWN Network (Oprah Winfrey Network.) So, Oprah will be just fine. Now, when are they going to cancel the real talk shows that need to go, like Dr. Phil. ( He is HORRIBLE, take him off for the greater good of daytime television.)

Oprah has too much power. She has enough power to influence the world to buy everything ranging from the most useful (a book) to the most useless (a second rate brand of popcorn). She probably has the type of money to put out contract hits so I wouldn't try to physically harm her or her family, but I digress. Anyways, a daytime talk show that is still relevant and informative in this day and age (sorry Jerry and Maury) is a rarity. Big ups to Oprah and her 23+ years on television! (Jamaican accent) BOH! BOH! I'm pretty sure she'll still be making mad bread off her magazine, Oxygen network, her book club (I know she must be caking off that book publishing money, I mean, she promoting their shit, so she probably taking all of Toni Morrison's publisher's money with damn near 5 of her books on her list) and anything else she strong arming a la Nino-Brown-taking-over-the-Carter style.
